The Josh Hannah Family Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior of Ponderosa High School who will attend a 4-year university. Recipient will have demonstrated strong academic performance, good character, and ambition and passion to do something amazing with their life. This might be excellence in business, technology, the arts, government, non-profit work, or any other interest that you aspire to make your life's work. The ideal candidate would be able to inspire us not only by discussing what they would do, but by demonstrating that they have used their time at Ponderosa to have begun this journey already. $5000 total scholarship will be paid $1250 per year subject to satisfactory academic progress at University.

* The most important criteria for selecting a winner for this scholarship is a clear explanation of the thing that inspires you and how you have pursued that passion during your years in high school. This matters more than any other requirement, and all applications that just submit a standard statement not tailored to this question are discarded. Often only one or two students even bother to really answer this question, so it can be surprisingly easy to win this scholarship by actually reading and responding to the criteria. What inspires you, why does it matter to the world, what have you done about it, what do you intend to do about it? Answer those questions well and you will likely win!
