Divide Women's Club Scholarship

Due: Deadline has passed

Amount: $1,500.00

Scholarship Information

The Divide Women's Club began in 1927 as the Cool Study Club, when a group of ten local women organized for fellowship and cultural enrichment by encouraging members to study and report on the best books, current events, art, and drama. Shortly after its founding, the Club affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs, thus joining that nationally active and respected organization for women's educational, social, and civic activities.

In keeping with the Club's tradition if furthering education, their first priority is to give a scholarship to a Golden Sierra student.

The Lillian Lafaille Creative Writing Award was also created by the Divide Women's Club to recognize and honor Lillian Lafaille, a local author (at age 87), whose book "A Country Woman Remembers," is in its second edition.
