Westamerica Bank - Evelyn R. Horn Scholarship

Due: Deadline has passed

Amount: $3,000.00 - $10,000.00

Scholarship Information

The Evelyn R. Horn Scholarship Program was established by the Last Will and Testament of Evelyn Horn. This Scholarship is to be awarded to well-rounded students who intend to continue their education towards a bachelor's degree. Three categories of scholarships are established:

1). 30% of scholarship funds available shall be awarded to graduates or persons who have completed two years of education at Folsom Lake College at the El Dorado Center in Placerville and who desire to continue their education at the upper-division level.

2). 35% of the funds available shall be awarded to current seniors at El Dorado High School.

3). 35% of the funds available shall be awarded to current seniors at any of the high schools within the Black Oak Mine Union School District (Golden Sierra HS, American River Charter, and Divide Continuation High School).

The scholarships are to be awarded to well-rounded students who intend to continue their education to obtain a BACHELOR'S DEGREE. Consideration may be given to scholastic achievement, school activities, community involvement, and a demonstrated ability to work hard; however, no one factor shall control. Need is not to be a basis for awarding a scholarship nor is it to be considered. The most important consideration is whether the student will, after completing her or his education, be a benefit to the Placerville and/or Georgetown communities in California.
