Malinda Wendt Perseverance Scholarship

Due: Deadline has passed

Amount: $1,000.00

Scholarship Information

In honor of Malinda Wendt's 80th birthday in 2008, her family established a scholarship honoring her perseverance. Malinda was an inspiration to all who knew her. She triumphed over a difficult childhood, serious health issues, and personal tragedies. While never complaining, she was a shining example of what can be accomplished by sheer determination.

Malinda worked for 20 years at an elementary school, many of them as an unpaid volunteer. She valued education and hard work and was very supportive of her grandchildren's scholarship pursuits at Union Mine. We would like to award this scholarship to a student who has demonstrated great courage by overcoming significant life challenges on the path to high school graduation.
