Scholarship Information

In an effort to recognize those students who have been of exceptional service to their school and/or community, the Placerville Kiwanis Club is offering this scholarship. The winner will be awarded $3,000 over two years ($1,500 per year).

Service, as it applies to this award, is defined as volunteer work in your school/community that provides you no compensation or recognition other than the reward of providing service to others. Examples of this type of service would include, but not be limited to: student government, club involvement, volunteer work, church activities, 4-H, Scouting, peer counseling, candy stripers, Big Brothers/Sisters, and Special Olympics.

If you have provided this kind of service, have demonstrated leadership, are of good character, and have at least a 2.5 grade point average, the Placerville Kiwanis Club would encourage you to apply for this scholarship. There will be two scholarships awarded to each of the named high schools.

Golden Sierra High School, El Dorado High School, Ponderosa High School, Union Mine High School
GPA Minimum:
2.50

Selection will be based on: 40% School/Community Service; 20% Character; 20% Leadership; 20% Special Achievements. **Active participation in service organization will be given special consideration.
