Scholarship Information

The El Dorado County Mineral and Gem Society has established a Scholarship Program to provide scholarships to residents of El Dorado County who are pursuing a degree and/or career in geology or lapidary arts at an accredited college or university.

This year's scholarship(s), totaling $2,000, will be available to graduating high school seniors or college, university, or graduate school students. The minimum cumulative grade point average for eligibility is 3.0.

Scholarship Requirements

High School Requirement:
American River Charter (TK-12), Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter , Clarksville Charter (TK-12th), Cottonwood (TK-12th), Divide High School (9th-12th), El Dorado High School, Elevated Digital Learning Academy, Golden Sierra High School, Independence Continuation, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, Mountain View High, Mountainside Middle College High School, Mountainside Success Academy (8th -12th), Mt. Tallac High, Oak Ridge High School, Other - Private, Pacific Crest Academy , Ponderosa High School, Rite of Passage, South Tahoe High School, Union Mine High School
GPA Minimum:
3.00
Career/Major Requirement:
Pursuing degree/career in geology or lapidary arts (the art of working with stones or gems)
Other Requirements:
Preference will be given to those who have been active members of the El Dorado County Gem and Mineral Society.
