Scholarship Information

Scholarships awarded by the Association are awarded annually for postsecondary education. Three scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded for the 2026 - 2027 school year, paid in two installments of $500 each semester or two quarters.

Applicant must be an employee of El Dorado County and a member of the El Dorado County Employees Association, Local #1; OR a relative of said member such as a spouse, child, step-child, grandchild, or guardian thereof.

Scholarship Requirements

High School Requirement:
American River Charter (TK-12), Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter , Clarksville Charter (TK-12th), Cottonwood (TK-12th), Divide High School (9th-12th), El Dorado High School, Elevated Digital Learning Academy, Golden Sierra High School, Independence Continuation, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, Mountain View High, Mountainside Middle College High School, Mountainside Success Academy (8th -12th), Mt. Tallac High, Oak Ridge High School, Other - Private, Pacific Crest Academy , Ponderosa High School, Rite of Passage, South Tahoe High School, Union Mine High School
Other Requirements:
Applicant must be an employee of El Dorado County and a member of the El Dorado County Employees Association Local #1; OR a relative of said member such a spouse, child, step-child, grandchild, or guardian thereof.

GPA, Ethnicity, Gender, Financial Need, College Choice, Intended Career/Major

  • Unofficial Transcript - qty 1 , Must obtain PDF from College & Career Center
  • Essay - qty 1 , Topic: Pick ONE of the following topics: a) History of Unions or Organized Labor b) Famous Union Leaders c) How Public Employees Shape Society d) Union Contributions to the Labor Force, Essay must be an original copy, two and a half to three pages in length; typed, double-spaced, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. Please list research sources on a works cited page.
  • Other - qty 1 , Submit a short statement, two to three paragraphs at most, explaining "Where do you see yourself in five to ten years", including your educational and career goals.
