Scholarship Information

This $500 scholarship was created to honor the memory of Christine Carlson, a woman who held an unwavering faith in God and realized that the only lasting pleasure in life came from "doing for others and expecting nothing in return." She held a strong belief in the fundamentals of the U.S. Constitution and in the Republican Party where individual freedom, responsibility, self-reliance, hard work, education and community service were paramount and government intervention and aid were at a minimum. Applicants must have the intention of furthering their education in US government and/or history related programs.

Scholarship Requirements

High School Requirement:
American River Charter (TK-12), Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter , Clarksville Charter (TK-12th), Cottonwood (TK-12th), Divide High School (9th-12th), El Dorado High School, Elevated Digital Learning Academy, Golden Sierra High School, Independence Continuation, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, Mountain View High, Mountainside Middle College High School, Mountainside Success Academy (8th -12th), Mt. Tallac High, Oak Ridge High School, Other - Private, Pacific Crest Academy , Ponderosa High School, Rite of Passage, South Tahoe High School, Union Mine High School
Career/Major Requirement:
US Government or history related program
Other Requirements:

Applicant must be planning to study US government or history related programs and express an interest, understanding and belief in the fundamentals of the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.
