Established in 2019, The Tyson Wacker Scholarship Foundation is a local non-profit organization established in the memory of Tyson Wacker, a 16-year-old West Valley High School Varsity football player killed in a car accident on October 22, 2018. The foundation seeks to provide Student-Athletes the ability to succeed in both athletics and life. Our goal is to provide multiple scholarships to eligible graduating seniors year after year. Helping them live because Tyson couldn't. T8W.org

Scholarship Requirements

High School Requirement:
American River Charter (TK-12), Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter , Clarksville Charter (TK-12th), Cottonwood (TK-12th), Divide High School (9th-12th), El Dorado High School, Elevated Digital Learning Academy, Golden Sierra High School, Independence Continuation, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, Mountain View High, Mountainside Middle College High School, Mountainside Success Academy (8th -12th), Mt. Tallac High, Oak Ridge High School, Other - Private, Pacific Crest Academy , Ponderosa High School, Rite of Passage, South Tahoe High School, Union Mine High School
GPA Minimum:
3.00
Other Requirements:
  • Must be a graduating senior from a high school in Northern California
  • Must have participated in ANY high school sport within the four years of attendance (this could be one season of any sport that is affiliated with a high school).
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0
  • Must submitt all requirements of the application
