Oak Ridge Music Boosters - Brian Trevisan Maxey Memorial Scholarship for Choir
Due: Deadline has passed
Amount: $500.00 - $1,500.00
Scholarship Information
Brian Christopher Trevisan Maxey was born June 1, 2003 and died by accidental drowning on April 24, 2020 at the age of 16. Even as a baby and toddler, he was very outgoing and a friend to all; when he showed up to a park, he would run up to other children, whether he knew them or not, and say "Hello, what are we playing?" Once in school, he was a friend and confidante to many people, and in his short time on earth he made a deep impression on those around him. In high school, he volunteered for several different causes, including the El Dorado County Peer Council.
Brian was active and participated in Scouting into High School. He enjoyed playing sports all through his life, with a particular focus on soccer and mountain biking. He was an avid video game player, whose friends acknowledged his abilities. While he always enjoyed music, he only briefly studied it. He played trumpet in elementary school. He found a love for singing only in high school when he joined the Baritone Chorus in his Junior year. There he excelled both as a musician and leader and was a section lead for the baritones. His parents were proud to find he could read the bass clef music and was passionate about his participation. He would often sing while doing his household contributions.
The Brian Christopher Trevisan Maxey Memorial Scholarship for Choir was established in May 2020 by Geoff Maxey and Rosanna Trevisan (Brian's parents) and the Oak Ridge Music Boosters with support from Natalie Fletterick, Choir Director and Paul Varoff, Band Director.
