Scholarship Information
The Sacramento State Alumni Association awards one or more scholarships of $3,500 annually from the Alumni Scholarship Fund to high school seniors planning to attend Sacramento State. Applicants need not be related to members of the Alumni Association or graduates of Sacramento State. Applicants must be accepted to Sacramento State and have been issued a student ID number. All scholarship applications need to be submitted through the Sacramento State Scholarship portal.

Additional Scholarship Information
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS (ON SAC STATE WEBSITE, LINKED ABOVE)
1. Fill out the online application form below.
2. Upload a résumé of extracurricular activities and/or employment, awards and achievements, not to exceed one page, which you would like considered in scoring this application. (For example: student government, school clubs, volunteer activity, work experience.) Must include the date(s) of participation and any leadership roles held.
3. Upload a personal essay/statement, not to exceed 750 words, describing why you chose to attend Sacramento State, your degree and career goals, any hardships or obstacles you face in pursuit of your education at Sacramento State, and what you are doing to overcome those hardships.
4. Upload a letter of recommendation from someone that can attest to your leadership and academic success.
5. Upload a copy of your high-school transcripts through fall 2023
Deadline for applications to be submitted by students is March 2.
APPLICATION REVIEW & RATING
A selection committee of alumni will review all complete applications and rate them on the basis of:
- The potential of the candidate to achieve academic success.
- Demonstrated leadership and participation and service in school and the community.
- Hardships and obstacles, financial or otherwise.
- Quality of the application received.
- Scholarship winners will be notified in May 2024, pending Financial Aid verification.
