Scholarship Information
SAFE Credit Union will offer 4 college-bound seniors or community college students with fewer than 60 credits a $4,000 scholarship. Applicants must have a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 or above and attend a high school in one of the following counties: Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, Alameda, Amador, Butte, Contra Costa, Nevada, San Joaquin, Solano, or El Dorado. SAFE employees, volunteers, and immediate family members of employees or volunteers are ineligible to participate.
Scholarship finalists will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Academic achievement
- Financial need
- Personal Statement
- Letter of recommendation

- High School Requirement:
- American River Charter (TK-12), Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter , Clarksville Charter (TK-12th), Cottonwood (TK-12th), Divide High School (9th-12th), El Dorado High School, Elevated Digital Learning Academy, Golden Sierra High School, Independence Continuation, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, Mountain View High, Mountainside Middle College High School, Mountainside Success Academy (8th -12th), Mt. Tallac High, Oak Ridge High School, Other - Private, Pacific Crest Academy , Ponderosa High School, Rite of Passage, South Tahoe High School, Union Mine High School

- Applicant must be a member of SAFE with a checking or savings account in good standing. a member in good standing has an active account with SAFE and is not in default on any loan obligation to SAFE.
- Must be a graduating high school senior or a current community college student with 60 or fewer credits with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must currently attend a high school or community college in one of the 13 counties in SAFE's service area: Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, San Joaquin, Contra Costa, Solano, Yuba, Sutter, Butte, Nevada, Alameda, and Amador.
