Scholarship Information

El Dorado County Ag in the Classroom is proud to partner with local youth ag organizations, such as the local Future Farmers of America chapters at Ponderosa High School, Golden Sierra High School and Union Mine High School, the El Dorado High School Natural Resources program, as well as the El Dorado County 4H organization. Students and participants in these organizations have the opportunity to be student teachers/mentors in a wide variety of our programs including Farm Day and Fields of Learning. We are grateful for their participation and as such, established an annual scholarship in 2018 for graduating seniors who regularly participate and support our mission.

Scholarship Requirements

High School Requirement:
El Dorado High School, Golden Sierra High School, Pacific Crest Academy , Ponderosa High School, Union Mine High School
GPA Minimum:
2.50
College Requirement:
Institution of Higher Education, College/University, Community College or Trade/Vocational School
Career/Major Requirement:
Agricultural or Environmental related field or Education field
Other Requirements:
  1. The applicant must be a student who participated in an FFA Program, 4-H program and/or Natural Resources Program.
  2. The applicant must have participated for at least one year in the Ag in the Classroom Fields of Learning Program.
  3. The applicant must have participated as a presenter at the Placerville Farm Day event.

Required Documents

  • General Application - qty 1
  • Letter of Recommendation (letters of recommendation must be signed by the recommender before upload) - qty 2 , 1 from a school staff member. 1 from another adult in your life that is not a school staff member. This person cannot be a family member.
  • Unofficial Transcript - qty 1 , Must obtain PDF from the College & Career Center
  • Other - qty 1 , List all Ag in the Classroom activities that you have participated in and plan to participate in throughout the rest of the year, including, but not limited to Fields of Learning, 3rd Grade Farm Day, etc.
  • Other - qty 1 , Include a brief introduction of your experience at Ag in the Classroom and how that has enhanced your High School experience. Describe your role in our Fields of Learning program or Farm Day event. What are your future goals?
